Insurance For Tutors

START A QUOTE

While tutoring is typically considered to be a low risk profession, a tutor can still be sued by a client at any time for various reasons. Tutors can protect themselves against claims and lawsuits by carrying business insurance such as professional liability and general liability. We offer business insurance for tutors of all types in California, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, New York, Texas, Washington, and others.

Professional Liability Insurance

Professional liability insurance, also known as errors and omissions insurance, can help to protect a tutor in the event that they are sued by a client for reasons related to the actual tutoring services that were provided. For example, a client claims that the tutor did not provide the agreed upon services, or that their services were bad such as giving poor instruction.  As these types of claims typically don’t run into the millions, our business insurance for tutors program offers professional liability limits as low as $250K, which equates to premiums as low as $270/year.

General Liability Insurance

General liability insurance is an important coverage for many tutors, as it is meant to cover a tutor against claims related to accidental bodily injury and/or property damage to a client or third party. As tutors commonly work with students in-person and often at third party locations, carrying general liability insurance is a good way for tutors to protect themselves against these types of claims. Please note that claims arising from accusations of sexual abuse, molestation, and other related circumstances are typically not covered by general liability policies, but can be added separately in some cases.
