Environmental Pollution Liability Insurance
Environmental pollution liability insurance, more commonly known as either pollution liability insurance or environmental liability insurance, is a type of business liability insurance coverage designed to cover the costs associated with pollution clean up and remediation, as well as to cover liability claims arising from pollution related injuries, illnesses or deaths. Coverage may include various types of small scale pollution such as soil, groundwater or property contamination, along with potential coverage for air borne pollutants like smoke and fumes. Environmental liability and pollution liability policies are typically written on a stand alone basis, but it is possible in some instances for the coverage to be packaged with others such as general liability or professional liability and errors and omissions insurance such as our packaged programs for environmental consultants.
